Maybe I shouldn't write a review because I could only bear to make it about halfway through this book. I work with animals, and while in my humble opinion they're *extremely* communicative in their behavior, body language, expressions, and (if a species inclined towards such things) vocalizations etc - I still always dreamed of being able to "speak" with them. How wonderful it would be to ask a horse *why* they hate this or that, or if they're having vision problems in their left eye.I slogged through the stories of Amelia performing miraculous feats of animal telepathy, even being told specific names of animal friends which were missed by other animals. I slogged through the government research about telepathy - I assume included to add legitimacy as in reality the experiments were underwhelming at best. Then the holographic universe portion, which has been discarded by science...... and I found myself putting it down and taking longer to pick it up each time.Working with animals every day and being somewhat known for working with problem horses especially, through the years you end up trying the exercises she recommended, it's simply natural. Perhaps I'm just not properly inclined. I do believe there's something to the whole telepathy thing after an astonishing incident with a friend from Norway (in Norway) telling me details of my horse's life and health he couldn't know (or have picked up on in person, being on a different continent). But the book spends far too much time trying to justify (I believe the book calls it "explaining", but believe me it *is* simply trying to justify) animal telepathy and wow you with how amazing Amelia's gifts are. It gets old. I bought the book, there should be a presumed level of belief (or at least hopefulness) - one does not, for example, buy a book about dog training and expect half the book to be trying to convince the reader to buy a dog in the first place!I still dream of "talking to the animals". It would be indispensable in my role of helping the troubled ones. And when riding I'm in "The Zone" - the world ceases to exist and the horse and I are as much one being as possible. My mind doesn't wander, it's almost an empty state - this is the only way to physically interact with the horse immediately without thinking. At those times I'm as open and receptive to the horse as a creature can be.... never once have I gotten a picture or word or anything surprising.Perhaps I'm just not able, or maybe I should read the rest of the book and I'm being unfair. But I seriously can't slog through anymore of the book than I have. I simply want something more personal than a recounting of Amelia's amazing exploits and a compendium of debunked junk science. Since I have had many spiritual and psychic experiences regarding animals, I love this book. I know the spirit world is real and is populated with the souls of our animal friends who have crossed over including beloved wildlife and marine animals. If you deeply grieve the departure your animal friends, their spirits will mercifully arrive to comfort you, and let you know that you can stop grieving and worrying about them, because they have crossed over Rainbow Bridge and into Heaven. I like to think of myself as scientific. However, there are many things that science cannot explain.
